Nov 2006

Greetings Friends and Family!

“Planted deep within each of our hearts is an insatiable desire for a loving companionship that cannot be satisfied by any living thing except God Himself.” ~ Darien Cooper Psalm 42:2 My inner self thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and behold the face of God? (AMP) How true this is, yet for some reason we end up still trying to satisfy this longing with the shallow things of this world. I pray we yearn for a deeper, closer relationship with the Lord where nothing else matters.

Calvary Chapel Bucuresti

The search for church property continues. We are looking into another avenue to see what the Lord wants to do. Thank you for your continued prayers. We had to take the Curcani matter to court and of course it will be a lengthy process. Please pray for patience as we wait through all the legal issues to resolve this matter.

Women’s Conference

IT WAS WONDERFUL, AMAZING AND BEYOND WHAT I EVEN IMAGINED OR EXPECTED!!! I don't know if I could quite put into words what a blessed day it was. We had enough space for 70 women and I prayed at least 30 women would sign up to come. I knew the Lord would bring whoever He wanted to be there and that is what mattered most. Well, apparently He wanted a lot of ladies there. Without the team from Maranatha, there were 58 of us. Praise the Lord – He is so good and faithful!

The team from Maranatha (Tammy, Wanda, Lilly and Leanna) outdid themselves and was a complete blessing! Decorations were beautiful - totally my style. It was as if I had gone to choose everything myself. I love the way the Lord even cares about these little details. Psalm 90:17 And let the beauty of Jehovah our God be on us; and establish the work of our hands on us; yea, the work of our hands, establish it.

Each table was adorned with a white tablecloth and a table runner of gold tulle gathered at each end and tied with a gold ribbon. Okay, so I know I’m losing the men here, but I have to share the beauty with all the ladies. Snooze if you must men or skip on to the next. Ha! Ha! Back to the beauty…In the center was a piece of dark blue satin and on top of that a small glass mirror with a hurricane lamp with a beigey, gold candle inside. Then they sprinkled clear glass beads throughout. Tammy made a big heart of fresh white roses that we put on the pulpit. Gorgeous!!! It was all done like an engagement party for all of the women being the bride of Christ. Isa 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in Jehovah, my soul will be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the robes of salvation, He covered me with the robe of righteousness like a bridegroom adorns himself with ornaments, and like a bride adorns herself with her jewels. Oh, my, my, what a treat it was!!!

Every woman received a love letter from Christ rolled and secured with a little clear jeweled engagement ring, pen, booklet, bookmark, devotional (wrapped with silver paper and tied with tulle) and got to take their tea cup home too. It was a precious day and the ladies were spoiled and it was a joyous time in the Lord. The attending women were thrilled, blessed and overjoyed! One woman even told me she was without words to express herself about the day, but she would find the words to tell me.

The team did all the serving and would not allow me to take part in it because they wanted me to be able to sit and enjoy the teaching along with the ladies and I’m so grateful to them. They were so loving and serving and I could not have asked for a better team for this first conference. Vicki Bentley was a great speaker. She shared so much wisdom and love teaching through Psalm 119.

They even blessed my team of helpers and I with gifts. Of course I was so touched I cried. It really was a great day full of the presence of the Lord! I look forward to next year’s conference. There are already women from Calvary’s across Romania who want to attend next year. We’ll see what the Lord does!

Lumina pe Strada

Thank you for your prayers for this ministry. On Tuesday, October 31st, Maria moved into her new apartment. It is a very nice apartment not too far from where we live. She is very excited and had a group of us over one evening and cooked a big meal to celebrate her new place. It is great to see the Lord bring this opportunity for her and allow her to take this step. We’re so proud of her!

At the end of December our rental contract expires and we ask you to pray for the Lord’s will. There is no guarantee the landlord will allow us to continue living there and he may want to raise the rent. We will discuss things with him in a couple of weeks and see what our options are.

Shane’s Health

Well after all of your prayers and half the pharmacy in his system, Shane is doing much better. He has had to use the nebulizer a couple of times this past week, but that is all. The Lord is sustaining him and keeping him strong. We will probably need to invest in our own nebulizer so we can keep one on hand for rough moments.

Thank you for praying for Shane. He and I both remain on our inhalers morning and night and it has kept us well. Praise the Lord!
